Products and Classes
BritBreads, focuses on producing fresh quality breads and assorted baked goods for the local community. We began selling at The Millbrook Farmer's Market five years ago. Since then, there has been a lot of interest in our products, which has required us to build a larger facility.
Our initial intention was to sell at Farmer's Markets, however, our products are so popular that we are now in discussions with wholesale clients and will post details of new locations, as they are established, on our contacts page.
BritBreads, occasionally teaches classes at 'The Home Chef' in Hillsdale, NY.
Classes offered to date:
Sourdough and Yeasted Breads at Home.
Savoury and Sweet Soufflés.
Coming soon in 2022:
The Great British Baking Show - Classes.
Many of our customers recognise our British products from watching this show on PBS.
We plan to run classes on such items as:
Battenberg Cake, Bakewell Tart, Lardy Cake, Lemon Drizzle Cake, Jamaica Ginger Cake, Spotted Dick,
Toad-in-the-hole, Cornish Pasties and Sausage Rolls.
Of course, a British class series would not be complete without the makings of an Afternoon Tea:
Scones, Clotted Cream and Raspberry Jam, with assorted finger sandwiches.
Look out for these in 2022 and sign up at:

Lou's interest in artisan breads was sparked by a building project of a brick bread oven. The build was initially designed to reconnect him to his son, who was in imminent danger of wearing out his thumbs on his, then, not so smart phone.
He built that oven with his son and the rest, as they say, is history.....
Building the oven was very rewarding....what came out of it was nothing short of amazing. It wasn't just about breads, baked a couple of hours after the initial firing, but also: roasts, cakes, pastries, stews, braises and finally, as the oven temperature fell to around 170 degrees by day four, meringues!
The oven pictured left, was built by Lou for a customer who frequented The Farmer's Market in Millbrook. A handsome structure set in beautiful surroundings.
He has recently completed a new oven to accompany his purpose built bakery (preparation area only, not a retail Bakery) at his home. Throughout this year (and some of next, probably) he will build a second larger Geuelard oven to accommodate the increasing interest in his breads.
